Mercedes-Benz to ramp up social media activity with Online Circle appointment
Mercedez-Benz has appointed Online Circle to handle its social media activity after a pitch involving two other agencies.
The appointment follows a two-month trial period with Online Circle, which was asked to monitor and analyse what was being discussed about Mercedes in social media and to provide recommendations for a strategy.
The German car maker’s first foray in social media began last year when it launched Facebook page.

I read both the rfp sent by mercedes-benz and the props sent by the agencies (including online circle) and it was very clear that neither had any idea what social media was or how to use it effectively.
In truth the online circle won as it was the best of a bad bunch and cheaper
