Mr and Mrs Murder drops below 600,000 as Parade’s End fails to find audience

Ten’s comedy drama Mr and Mrs Murder fell to just 598,000 viewers on Wednesday night, down from last week’s 715,000. It was the 17th most watched show of the day.

However, the Shaun Micallef and Kat Stewart vehicle, which aired from  8.30pm, still beat Nine’s double episode of period epic Parade’s End, which rated 453,000 and 322,000. The BBC/HBO co-production, set at the time of the First World War, also failed to find large audiences when it aired in the UK.

Meanwhile, Seven won the 8.30pm battle with Last Resort rating 771,000, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.

Ten’s Mr & Mrs Murder fared a little better among advertiser-friendly demographics, sixth for the night in 18-49s.
