Clemenger BBDO Sydney has unveiled a new campaign for Hungry Jack’s in which the value of the burger chain’s Jack’s Packs meals offer is represented by sinister multiplying man-sized rabbits.

The rabbits are creepy and freak me out. NO appeal whatsoever to buy the deal.
Bugs Bunny on Crack . . Ha Ha
I can’t watch this, they’re the scariest looking bunnies. They’re not cute and fluffy but rather evil. I’ll have nightmares just looking at the still.
And hot on the tail of the Macca’s mates deals, it screams “me too”.
I hear you LouLou! If Stephen King wrote about bunnies this is what they’d look like. And the way they multiply! If I was behind the counter I’d soil my pants.
Could someone be polite enough to tell me what the tone is?
i wish to buy one or two of these outfits. if the creator is willing to sell them please contact me thank you .
i would love to buy one of these too creep some people out walking around in one
I love that ad. Different look and feel for HJ’s, and I love the creepy bunnies.
Might have to change my 2am Sat night dinner plans to include a whopper!
Good job Clems.
A fast food ad with an idea? How dare Hungry Jacks do that.
An idea that doesn’t involve consumption imagery or the “money” shot of sizzling, spritzed product.
Nice work. Much, much better for it.
Love the creepy bunnies! Very cool.
Has HJ’s strategy not always been to just do as maccas do?
Agreed the bunnies are freaky, but not sure that matters to the idea really.
On a different note – we’ve had chicken and fish, so why not Bunny Burgers?
Are they trying to use the freaky bunny idea from Donnie Darko?
I understand the bunny = multiplying theme, but I’m not entirely sure how the freaky nature of bunnies relates to burger sales, though…
Laura, you’re kidding surely?
Hungry Jacks has long needed to differentiate itself from the golden tits of America and this is a great first step on the journey.
Don’t they generally just run anything and see a lift in sales volume over that month?
The bunnies are VERY Donnie Darko….but linking it to ‘multiplying” is a bit weak.
Are they rabbit burgers?
Are the bunnies angry because HJs is serving up their kids?
Are the multiplying because that’s what bunnies do…..god that would be clever advertising.
Will it be effective? yeah of course. hit anything with 400TARPS a week and it would go off.
I’m tipping normal cute bunnies don’t eat hamburbers anyway, so I don’t think normalcy is what the agency was aiming for. Yes, these bunnies are a bit freaky (which in my eyes makes the multiplication premise funnier). However, I’m not sure it creates a point of difference – the recall seems to be on the bunnies, not the brand.
Yep, I want one of those suits too please! And I’ll get myself a burger or two on the weekend as well!
I’m not sure why they used such evil looking bunnies? This might creep people out more than bring people into their stores..
Great creative!
I must admit I did think of the Donnie Darko with the rabbits at first, but realistically, the similarities end with the fact it’s a guy in a bunny suit… the DD rabbit is on a whole different ‘creepy’ level.
What I really think makes this ad is the young lady behind the counter. Her reactions are perfect, and the ad is cut well too.
This is the best TV creative I have seen in a long time. Well done Clemenger!
What standouts to me is a different direction, better casting & a bit of polish to it. I like.
‘stands out’
I like it, it sticks. I don’t think you’d even register the ad let alone remember it if it had cute fluffy bunnies
I dont understand the percentage part at the end – what does it mean? seems incredibly pointless
Nice gimmick….make me hungry….nup….does it scream good value….what’s 35 percent of $19.95 again, no I mean 45 percent of um what’s it cost in the first place and how….no carry the 1….um… nup….meant to appeal to a younger target….yep….will it….yep….will they want all that crap…nup…just a stunner…will it dig HJ’S out of the land of negative comp sales….nup…next…
Now what about the new breakfast spot….old lady and a model on a yacht with HJs for breakfast…nup.
I imagine that the target for HJ – young men – will have no issues with the ‘dark’ looking bunnies. In fact fluffy and freindly looking bunnies would almost certainly turn off that audience.
I think its good work and stand-outs, which is something HJ desparately needs. Well done Clems.
I think it’s all about reaching the target audience but not eliminating the remaining audience in the process. I’m 29 yrs old. I tune out to every other fastfood ad on TV. Yep, the Bunnies are creepy (funny creepy), yep the reactions of the girl are great, it’s a lot more filmic, do I care about what they’re actually saying? Nope, I know what hungry jacks already offers so a better punchline would’ve been the clincher and yeah it sticks in my mind and might lean towards a whopper than a ‘Whatever Grand Burger ‘next time. My mum however would probably be turned off a bit.
I think its interesting retail advertising.
But they will have to watch the branding on this campaign. Given it’s such a departure from previous campaigns it will take a while for the ads to be connected.
Lets see if the work changes tact in a couple of months – if it does you’ll know the tracking ain’t great…and sales aren’t either….
That is hilarious. V funny and cool. Great ad.
Theyre not bunnies…
They’re Jackrabbits…. note the play off the Chain’s name.
Clearly too many critics on here dont get the full meaning of using them.
It made me think that there must be some tie-in to a dark children’s cartoon show or graphic novel, especially with those cartoon black and white bunnies in the end graphic.
Why would you reference jackrabbits, which almost no one in Australia would understand without it being explained to them?
This seems to be to be the sort of ad that only appeals to other advertising people. A wank, in other words.
Can you please link me were i can buy one of those rabbit costumes
This is better than watching somemone eating a burger with their o-face on!
Donnie Darko meets Angry Birds
Like it, great ad.
There is nothing about people in animal costumes that I hate.
Love the creepy bunnies. I too would love an outfit. Also great advertising just due to the fact we are all discussing it. Think about it.
where can i get a few of those exact costumes
from?? plz help out. awesome add
I love this advert. Not only is her reactions perfect but the look of the rabbits is just unexpected. A+ 🙂

I Have a few buyers interested.
Keep up the good work!
Reminds me of Donnie Darko, I love the creepy bunnies.
The look on the young lady’s face says it all. She is being creeped out. Me too. I like HJs. Hate the ad. Get it off TV.
She is really cute, love her expressions, those are some freaky bunnies, she handles them well. Oooookay 🙂
Good marketing, not sure of the rabbits relevance, although gets everyone’s attention.
The young lady’s expression is priceless & combined with the stark presentation of the white rabbits results in maximum synergy.
Why is she not included in the credits!?
I really like the rabbit costums, would i be able to buy one?
The relevance of the rabbits is the quickness they multiply. The more jacks packs you buy, the more you save so the rabbits multiply quickly.
I love the ad! I’m obsessed with the evil bunnies! And the Jingle! And the girl behind the counter too! I’m not even a fan of Hungry Jacks but we got the deal for our family not long after seeing the ad 😀
Can I please have a PDF? I am in luv with the evil bunnies!!! Well done!!!
my Bf wants one of these bunny costumes. has anyone found how to get one??
The standout in this ad is the girl. She is perfect for the part. If this agency does’nt use her again I’m sure another will.
I think John Stanmore should go out and watch more car ads! It is perfection!
I think that the relevance is that all ads are taking a more entertaining trend. If you have to think “why” then you have thought! What campaign could ask for more than that? Make t-shirts, posters et al. I got the concept, but it was fun getting it!
Where can I get me one of those rabbit suits….love the freaky bunnies!
Agreed… It is rare to find an ad worthy of discussion. The costumes, the girl’s facial expressions… a surreal mix in the sobering environment of a fluoro-lit canteen is too funny. I want one of the jackrabbit costumes too.
We love the ad and want to buy some costumes.
this ad puts a stupid smile on my face the second I see the first solitary bunny outside, and the girl’s facial expression is so good
I love it all
Unusually for me, I don’t mind it.
Best TVC going at the moment, I have purchased a late night jacks pack since seeing it.
The girl in the ad nails the part well done clems
Imagine if you were stoned and went to HJs and saw those rabbits and how much it would freak you out?! Wow!!
love the ad and I’m not even in the target (30YO Female). Well done Clems :8
Hi, Love the ad, music is light and catchy, The young Lady is a dead ringer for a young corrine grant, her delivery and eye movement is spot on.
Well done guys.
Michael
the actress is brilliant.has she appeared in anything else.i dont eat fast food often but next time will be hjs just to reward a brilliant add
Absolutely FUNNY. I keep asking everyone “have you seen the HJs Rabbit commercial?”. I love the actress, she does an amazing job… hope we see more of her.
Love love love it – right I’m off to Hungry Jacks!
Love the evil rabbits. Want to buy one or two. Where can we get them????
Please…….Who is the actress in this ad. She is brilliant. Facial expressions are superb.
You guys are all kidding yourselves…… Multiplying rabbits? so irrelevant
Yes I too would like to get one of those outfits there great funny add I love it and the reaction of the girl is brilliant . Great add .
Luv the gay guy’s / girl’s or nerd “irrelevant” comment. Got sacked or didn’t get the job? It is creative genius – which you obviously don’t have or respect – perhaps they can make a big bunny suit of you – might make more friends that way!
I never get tired of seeing that girls delightful facial expressions, the whole household stops everytime its on. Where can we see more of her, who is she? Such a delight, must go try a jack pack deal.
I would to one of those outfits. Where can I get one??
Love the ad, even though I never go to fast food chains and never will. I love the way the rabbits look so malevolent but just stand there staring and fuming. It doesn’t have to mean anything; it just gets you thinking about who the ad is for and it gets the name of the business and the product in your head (bingo!!). The girl behind the counter is great too. I can’t help chuckling and marvelling at the brilliant stupidity of the whole thing every time.
I’d love to get 30 of my friends into those suits and then stomp into a bank or a supermarket some time …..
