CHE Proximity, Cummins & Partners and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne among the big winners at the Mumbrella Awards
CHE Proximity Melbourne led by Chris Howatson has taken out the coveted Creative Agency of the Year gong at the Mumbrella Awards, while Cummins & Partners scooped Media Agency of the Year.
Both managed to add to their tallies with CHE Proximity taking home the Mumbrella Award for Data-Driven Marketing while scoring three highly commended nods for its Safety Hub and Overconfidence Cover campaigns.
Meanwhile, Cummins & Partners also managed to win Full Service Agency of the Year, as well as Best Use of User Experience and was highly commended in the Independent Agency of the Year category.
Among the other notable winners was Special Group, crowned Independent Agency of the Year as well as being awarded Best Use of Real-Time Marketing and Ad Campaign of the Year for its Tonight I’ll Be Eating campaign for Uber Eats.
Can we just take a minute to applaud Common Ventures, a tiny agency with little creative profile, for winning TV ad of the year, against Clems, DDB, TBWA, M&C etc?
We’re chuffed to be in such great company. Thank’s for the clapping and congratulations to all the winners.
How does IAG get marketing team of the year, what have they done? Safety Hub looks like it’s just a build on the old safer homes website. The rest of the work they have done is not memorable and their biggest brand NRMA has the worst reviews in the insurance category. How do these results really get judged?
The Mumbrella Awards, as with all awards run by Mumbrella, are judged by the mosts senior leaders in the industry across a number of verticals to ensure a fair and thorough system. The judges mark against a strict criteria which is published as soon as we launch the call for entries.
According to the judges comments which were read out last night at the ceremony, “The culture of the team lead by Brent Smart was apparent from the start. Their work as a team has had an exceptional impact on the IAG business and they are innovating from the inside. It was a standout entry in the category.”
Thanks,
Damian – Mumbrella
they have a ‘celebrity’ CMO who puts himself out there all the time
Such incredible talent in our industry. It is so inspiring. Lovely to see @Hello above acknowledging the efforts of the smaller guys too.
Such as shame to see @Hello 2 u being so negative and bringing down the efforts of some great people in our industry. Judging can only ever be judged by the submission that is made at the time and not on the outside world’s view of the business. Sometimes the best agencies can have the worst submissions, so you can’t judge it like this. There is no way IAG would be a winner if the work and the submission didn’t hold up against everyone else’s.
Running a creative business and performing at the level these agencies and clients do is a massive effort from all, and it isn’t a time to be dragging down our industry. Let’s stick together and celebrate rather than pull each other down, I say.
Congratulations to all the winners and those who were in the running too. There are fantastic people and great talent in this industry. I’d love to see us celebrate the good more often for the good of the entire industry.
But doesn’t Mumbrella thrive on gossip and scandal? Hopefully that’s just history.
Fun night! Any more pictures?
Well done to all the winners. Agree with the previous comments, congratulations Common Ventures a little agency producing great work.
