Mumbrella Readers Choice Awards – industry blog of the year shortlist
The following entries have been shortlisted in the media and marketing blog of the year category of the Mumbrella Readers Choice Awards. The order that follows was deliberately randomised so there is no alphabetical advantage in the order they appear.
Subscribers to the Mumbrella daily email will receive a link to the voting website.
While readers are invited to comment on the entries, please be aware that we will be alert for both astroturfing and deliberate attempts to sabaotage a particular entry. Multiple comments from the same IP address, or otherwise suspicious postings will be moderated.
Please remember that including a video was optional, so entries that do not do so should not be judged down for that reason. In this category, please do take the time to follow the links to visit the blogs themselves.
My choice is with Sydney Public Relations…spot on, to the point, effective, engaging and relevant.Great one!!
I go with Public Relations Sydney – very practical and useful information with no ego or fluff.
I enjoy the Catriona Pollard blog. She is a great PR help to me and countless other businesses.

My vote is for Public Relations Sydney. Informative and a great resource.
Talking Digital has taught me more about the media buying process than any other source. Sometimes I don’t love what I read; but I sure as hell learn a lot.
Mandatory reading in my view for every Australian publisher, in the same way that TechCrunch is mandatory reading for online start-ups.
I have to agree with Zac on Talking Digital but I find the writing lets say a little too ninemsn focused (biased).
Personally I think balance is really important especially if you are representing all the major publishers.
My vote is for Public Relations Sydney.
Always intersting, practical and easy to understand. It’s also easy and quick to navigate – an important feature when there is so much information to review and absorb every day.
Catriona Pollard’s shows a generosity of spirit with the useful ideas she gives freely in”Public Relations Sydney” – she has my vote – thanks Catriona.
Public Relations Sydney has my vote! Catriona has lots of useful and practical tips to share. Her blogs are interesting, easy to read and to follow. Excellent! Go Catriona!
Yee Wah
Public Relations Sydney & Catriona Pollard has my vote. I have been following the blog for years and it has been a fantastic source of information. It’s engaging, it’s relevant and it’s inspiring.
Public Relations Sydney just lost my vote due to not letting the work speak for itself.
Just to answer that last point, there’s nothing wrong with people urging their supporters to voice that support.
The only issue for that is when the same person is posting multiple times, and we haven’t seen any of that from any of the entrants although we’ve been looking out for it.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
lol at the public relations blog comments
‘it was really good’
Trust Jules to write a list! Haha, great work everyone. :]
Sydney Public Relations have my support. But it’s the generosity and savvy approach of front woman Catriona Pollard that shines the brightest. Her ongoing commitment to connecting and sharing Free PR resources and info with our Members is to be admired. The confidence to share your expertise with others without fear that you’re missing out on business is the sign of a true entrepreneur. Congratulations CP on your business acumen and generosity.

Gary! Is that you?
Or instead of going to personalise media, you could actually go to adage who own the data and ip that he republishes every week.
I vote for Sydney Public Relations. Through her writing Catriona Pollard provides an extremely informative and useful business resource. It is apparent when you first start reading her blog that she has an enormous understanding of PR and a wealth of depth that is shared with her readers. Great job.
Most of the blogs appear to be published so the author can amuse themselves as much as inform/entertain their audience. I vote for the Sydney Public Relations blog because is the blog that publishes valuable tips and news about PR itself. Catriona wants to improve how people use and understand PR and she achieves that in her well written blog.
I’m in for Catriona @ Sydney Public Relations too. Ta.
