National Box Office: Kung Fu Panda 4 defeats Godzilla X King

Jack Black’s animated comedy de force Kung Fu Panda 4 remains at number one at the Australian box office, taking in $1.97 million this weekend.
The film has now brought in $19.87 million, (more than Kung Fu Panda 2, according to HOYTS, for those playing at home) – Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was the second biggest film this weekend, bringing in an impressive $1.29 million.
Zendaya’s Australia’s press run has paid dividends for her film Challengers, which debuted in third place opening weekend, taking $865,000 – having now taken over $1 million, including preview screenings.
Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire came in fourth after more than a month in cinemas, taking a cool $782,000 and pushing its Australian tally to $11.6 million. Kirsten Dunst film Civil War which brought in $708,000 in its second weekend, after pulling $1.3 million opening weekend.
The national box office was $9.59 million for the weekend, with the top ten movies making up 81.7% of the tally.
