NBCUniversal unveils APAC promotion

NBCUniversal (NBCU) has expanded Chris Taylor’s remit, with a promotion to managing director, APAC, TV distribution and international networks & direct-to-consumer (DTC).

The promotion will see Taylor’s work in DTC, content distributions and sales, and networks extend beyond Australia and New Zealand to cover the Asia Pacific.

Taylor will remain in the entertainment company’s Sydney office, and will report to the organisation’s executive vice president, sales liaison international, global TV distribution, Carolyn Stalins, and Ken Bettseller, NBCU’s president of international networks and DTC.

Taylor’s appointment follows Justine Che’s – the current APAC managing director – promotion to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s president – a role that will move Che to Los Angeles.

Taylor’s career at NBCU began in 2013. He’s been credited with uplifting the business’s market position in New Zealand and Australia by setting up and managing free-to-air networks (7Bravo in Australia and Bravo in New Zealand), and securing deals for long-term content licenses.

Before starting at NBCU, Taylor worked as the chief executive officer of entertainment service, Quickflix; held several positions at Telstra, such as director of Telstra Media and general manager, network advertising, for over three-and-a-half years; and managing director of the Nine Network in Queensland.
