NCIS leads Ten’s ratings, but My Kitchen Rules attracts greater share of younger audience

Nine has narrowly moved ahead of Seven in Tuesday’s ratings, while among younger viewers Seven’s My Kitchen Rules proved more popular than Ten’s US crime show NCIS.

The most-watched show for the night was Seven’s Today Tonight with almost 1.5 million viewers, followed by NCIS at 8:30pm with 1.4 million, and My Kitchen Rules (MKR) at 7:30pm in third position with 1.35 million, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data for the metropolitan markets.

But while NCIS rated higher than MKR in total people, among 16-to-39s MKR was the leader with an average audience of 500,000 compared to NCIS’ 432,000. And among 18-to-49 year olds, MKR also led with 693,000 ahead of NCIS’ 638,000.

Last week, the premier episode of Top Gear was the most-watched Tuesday show for the two above-mentioned age groups, followed by NCIS and MKR in third. The week prior to that, on February 9, NCIS was the leader, followed by MKR.
