Netflix, Comcast and Paramount takeover bids for Warner Bros Discovery due today

Paramount Skydance, Netflix, and NBC parent Comcast are all expected to submit offers to buy Warner Bros Discovery within the next few hours.

Variety reports that WBD set a deadline of November 20 for first-round bids, with all offers to be evaluated before Thanksgiving (November 27). The WBD board reportedly holds the ambitious goal of accepting a bid by the end of the year.

Netflix and Comcast are expected to bid for the WBD streaming and studios divisions only — Comcast’s ownership of NBC makes buying CBS a regulatory nightmare — while Paramount wants the entire company, including WBD’s less attractive cable networks.
