New ABC series sees key Secret Life of Us cast and crew reunite
A new family drama series with a strong creative base from Ten’s hit series The Secret Life of Us has begun production for the ABC.
The Time of Our Lives is produced by The Secret Life’s co-creator Amanda Higgs and writer Judi McCrossin for their production company JAHM productions.
The 13×60 minute drama, which began shooting on Friday 29 June, also includes key cast and crew from the Ten series, including actors Claudia Karvan, Stephen Curry, writers Tony McNamara, Kris Mrska, Michael Miller as well as McCrossin.
Actors Justine Clarke, Shane Jacobson, William McInnes and Michelle Vergara Moore will also feature while The Strait‘s Blake Ayshford and Beaconsfield‘s script editor Ursula Cleary have also been named in the writing team.
So, another variation on ‘Packed to the Rafters’ ?
I’m giving this one a wide berth. It’s overkill of the messy family drama genre. Bring back some cop shows
Okay so more white middle class angst where people screw other people that they shouldn’t and do other naughty things that they shouldn’t…isn’t this getting all a bit over analysed? Who’s prepared to take some chances in TV land, maybe break some new ground, push the envelope? No, lets just go with the tried and tested and blood new writing, acting, directing talent maybe once every ten years, that way those that keep getting the greenlight for the same old stuff look edgy because they’re seen to be exploring taboo subjects, which in the internet age aren’t taboo at all, but are to those that deem it to be so..yawn..I’ll give it a watch but it’ll be on a tight leash.
WOW, great to know you three have seen all the scripts and KNOW exactly what’s in the storylines. Not sure if you have also seen the interesting slate the ABC have going, including, Redern Now, Dr Blake, Pleae Like Me (comedy), Seeragoon Road (Singapore co pro).. But then again I guess you are just too busy complaining.. Good TV is Good TV..bring it ON!

You are right Elly, we can’t comment until we have seen it. I saw The Secret Life Of Us, it was overblown crap.
Hey I said I’d give it a watch. Good TV is Good TV…wow..so insightful, as opposed to Bad TV being Bad TV. Why has it become the norm that anybody who is tired with the old way of doing things, is a whinger, a complainer , a hater? I’m just bored with Australian content on TV, its so white middle class uninspired and boring, and I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that. The Slap was great..don’t stop making stuff, just be aware its time we started blooding new writers and pushing the envelope, something we rarely do.
