New Philosopher magazine attempts Australian launch through crowd funding

PhilosopherAustralia’s first philosophy magazine for the general public is planning to launch later this year and is hoping to use crowd funding to finance its operation.

New Philosopher magazine is planning an Australian launch in August and running a campaign on crowdfunding platform Pozible to help fund the first edition.

Zan Boag, editor of the Australian edition, said their aim was to give Australia: “its very own high-quality, beautifully designed philosophy magazine”.

“We’re distributing New Philosopher via newsagents and bookshops in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a digital version via iTunes. We are also collaborating with the Byron Bay Writers’ Festival, where we have a marquee and will be launching the magazine in August,” he said.
