News.com.au ‘Makes some noise’ about anxiety in campaign for World Mental Health Day
News.com.au is raising awareness about the anxiety many Australians are suffering from and the cost it can take on employers, the community, families and sufferers, in honour of World Mental Health Day.
The campaign is the second instalment of the ‘Let’s Make Some Noise’ initiative. On the same date last year, News.com.au drew focus onto the mental health issues that are faced by men, and dubbed it ‘The Silent Killer’.

According to News.com.au, one in five Australians will experience anxiety in a way that has a disruptive impact on their relationship or work. The publisher also stated that “the financial cost of mental illness to the economy is $60bn a year, with businesses bearing up to $12bn a year of that due to absenteeism and staff turnover”.
Ironic, as I hear from colleagues that working at News causes anxiety!
