News Corp throws weight behind a Queensland bid for the 2032 Olympics in tourism campaign
News Corp executive chairman Michael Miller has spoken at an event as part of a push from The Courier Mail to bolster Queensland’s tourism industry, calling for a better future for Brisbane and Queensland, and pushing for a 2032 Olympics-hosting bid.
The Courier Mail’s Future Tourism series launched on June 7 and will run to June 21 as part of the Go Queensland series. Supported by Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia, The Star Entertainment Group and Brisbane Marketing, the campaign argues Queensland should be Australia’s number one tourism state, after a sharp fall of foreign visitors over the past 15 years.
I love this campaign to date – Great thought leadership in one of the most important industries that is the largest employer in QLD
