News Corp’s Kate de Brito new Mamamia editor

kate de britoRecently departed News Corp Editorial Network’s head of digital and former News.com.au news editor Kate de Brito is joining Mamamia as editor, Mumbrella can reveal.

“Kate is a perfect fit for Mamamia,” said co-founder and editorial director of the Mamamia Women’s Network Mia Freedman. “She has serious news and opinion credentials – the things that are the foundation of Mamamia. We’re growing the business, and having someone with Kate’s flair and experience will position us brilliantly for the future.”

Mumbrella understand de Brito replaces Renee Mundy who departed the media company in recent months.

Mundy had replaced Holly Wainwright who stepped up from being editor of parenting site iVillage – now known as The Motherish –  to the Mamamia editor role last September. According to the company she stepped back from that role “due to the demands of having a young family” but remains “a valued senior editor”.
