News Corp’s latest investigative podcast one of the country’s most popular shows

News Corp has drawn close to half a million monthly listeners to its latest investigative podcast, Bronwyn, the highest debut in the latest Australian Podcast Ranker.

With close to a million downloads in June, Bronwyn debuted as the fifth most-listened-to podcast in June, with the top four places remaining the same: Hamish and Andy in first, Casefile in second, ABC News Top Stories in third and Mamamia Out Loud in fourth.

Conversations has leaped into sixth place, from eighth, while Kyle and Jackie O lost three places to sit in ninth place – more bad news for the highest-paid broadcasters in Australian history.

Bronwyn tells the tale of Australian mother Bronwyn Winfield, who went missing from a coastal NSW town in 1993.

It is journalist Hedley Thomas’s follow-up to the popular Teacher’s Pet podcast.

“Sadly, there are many unsolved cases of women who disappeared and were treated by police back then as runaway wives and mothers abandoning their children. They all deserve to be closely examined with all the resources we can muster, “Thomas said of this latest podcast.

“Through the incredible power of podcasting, we hope that we will make a profound difference by shining a light on Bronwyn’s disappearance.”
