News and test cricket help Nine win the night as Ten edges Seven for total network share
News and cricket handed a win to Nine yesterday with the channel securing an audience share of 18.5 per cent ahead of Seven’s share of 15.9 per cent.
Nine News at 6pm was the most watched show overall grabbing a metro audience of 1.222m, with Nine News at 6.30 watched by 1.183m, and session three of the fourth test between Australia and India was the most watched non-news show of the day with a metro audience of 927,000, down on Wednesday’s audience of 1.017m.
The second innings of the match pulled an audience of 699,000 after 584,000 watched the first session of the day’s play. The Cricket Show during the lunch break had an audience of 524,000.
In other cricket, session two of Ten’s Big Bash match between Perth Scorchers and the Brisbane Heat grabbed a metro audience of 707,000, according to numbers from Ten based on OzTam timings, after 565,000 viewers watched session one. The post-game broadcast was watched by 397,000.Ten had an audience share of 13.7 per cent ahead of the ABC’s share of 10.4 per cent.
