Newspaper Works research suggests regional news media more trusted than TV and radio
Regional news media has almost twice the trust of television and radio, according to research from newspaper industry body The Newspaper Works.
The research, commissioned by The Newspaper Works and conducted by Research Now among 1,440 respondents, comes just over a week after APN News & Media announced plans to sell off its struggling Australian Regional Media arm.
According to the Think Local – Regional News Media Report, more than half of the respondents considered regional news a trusted source of information, with 54% ranking regional newspapers as their most trusted source of information, followed by television (29%), radio (27%) and online search (18%).

I wonder if the outdoor guys have their own industry body that could conduct some research that shows outdoor is more trusted….
Jog on.
Yeh dont really think so. All Regional Newspapers have had the guts cut out of them and have up to 75% of Journos cut..
Well they had to find something to pull a shade over regional TV and radio becasue circulation/viewer/listener comparisons would show TV and radio are eating regional newspaper’s breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A survey by ‘Newspaper Works’, (the industry body advocating the cultural influence and commercial value of news media publishing in Australia), have conducted their own survey, which concludes that newspapers are more powerful than any other media in regional areas.
