Nine shuffles executive team, naming APEX’s Pippa Leary as new commercial director of digital sales
Nine is shuffling its executive team, appointing APEX boss Pippa Leary as commercial director of digital sales, Mumbrella can reveal.

Alex Parsons, Pippa Leary and Michael Stephenson
Mumbrella understands the executive shuffle comes with a handful of redundancies related to the restructure, however Nine declined to comment on the details.
Alex Parsons, Nine’s chief digital and marketing officer, said: “We have a continuing focus on ensuring our business is positioned in the best possible way to manage the demands of clients and the audience.”
No mention of how Alex has gutted the creative team, making their top talent in art direction and copywriting redundant today. (Edited under Mumbrella’s content moderation policy)
“Her experience and seniority is without peer and I’m wrapped that she is joining our Nine Sales leadership team as we invest in the most talented executives to drive growth.
I think you will find that wrapped in this context is spelt rapt.
#wordnerd. #typoalert. #sad!
Hi DCNZ,
You are of course correct. Thanks – duly fixed…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
I think Pippa would’ve have been rapt to be CEO of anything, including Fairfax. But she wasn’t.
Hi Oops,
If only you’d kept reading…
“…as CEO of Fairfax and Nine’s programmatic exchange APEX”…
Pippa has been CEO of Apex for the last three years, and it’s owned by Fairfax and Nine.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Then it should read Fairfax’s or Fairfax’ with an apostrophe to denote that APEX is from Fairfax. The way is spelled assumes Pippa was CEO of Fairfax. Details…details…
Interesting that, as is often the case with NEC, they never give the number of those impacted (FTEs and Contract positions), internally or externally.
