Nine’s Olympics average highest ratings since second day

Nine’s coverage of the London Olympics has had its highest ratings average result since the second day of the event.

Thursday’s early evening session averaged 1.63m total viewers while the evening session averaged 1.79m to win the night, according to preliminary ratings by OzTam. The evening session was the highest single session since day four.

The two sessions had an average viewership of 1.716m – the best result Nine has had since the second day, which averaged 2.035m across the two evening sessions.

Across the key advertising demographics of 16-39 and 18-49 Nine’s coverage placed first, second and third with both evening sessions followed by the late session. In 25-54, the late session was fourth behind Nine News.
