Nova on the hunt for CEO – chief entertainment officer
MyCareer.com.au and Nova have teamed up to launch a campaign to find the radio station’s “first ever CEO” – chief entertainment officer – who will travel overseas to report on music festivals.
The “Nova CEO” campaignsees the creation of the new temporary role where the winning applicant will hit the road for two weeks to report live from the Summersonic festival in Japan, Sziget in Hungary and Pukkelpop in Belgium.
The position, which people can apply for on the Fairfax-owned MyCareer.com.au website, is primarily being pitched at those looking for a career in music, media or journalism. It will include writing music review blogs on the festival acts, photos and video reporting.
The all-expenses paid trip will allow the winning applicant to be accompanied by a friend and will also be given $10,000 spending money.
It’s being promoted on Nova, MyCareer.com.au, as well as press ads and banners on Fairfax sites.
The latest initiative follows the launch today of Nova 100’s world record attempt to hold the ‘World’s Highest Comedy’ show as part of the radio station’s promotion of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Best job in the world.
“who will travel oversees to report on music festivals.”
Perhaps Mumbrella could employ someone to “oversee” spelling …. 😛
done so many times already! really not worth the time it took for this page to load…
it’s completely irrelevant whether it has been done before and/or is similar to Best Job in the World Campaign (which was hardly innovative). The only measure by which it should be judged is whether it meets its marketing and business objectives.
fair enough sven, but if that is the case surely it’s only worth posting/talking about when it has achieved success
right now it’s sending me to sleep
Actually Yawn, DMG have lately been producing some amazingly unique and interesting promotions ahead of their competitors, ARN and Austereo, so it is worth noting such a promotion conducted for commercial radio. Not to mention that alignment with mycareer.com.au which is also a strong allegiance of branding between the two.
