Nova reshuffles Melbourne management as it prepares for 2015 radio battle

Nova Entertainment is parting ways with its Melbourne general manager Helen Davies at the end of the year with the company looking to “increase its focus on the competitive Melbourne media market in 2015”.
Davies has been GM for three years, with her role to be taken by Lou Higgins in addition to her chief operating officer duties for the company nationally, overseeing the Nova 100 and SmoothFM 91.5 stations.
Melbourne is set to be one of the key battlegrounds in metro FM radio next year, with the Australian Radio Network rebranding its Mix station to Kiis and bringing in Matt Tilley to partner Jane Hall in the Breakfast slot, as they look to challenge Southern Cross Austereo’s Fox FM for the market leadership.

If Helen hasn’t already made plans I hope one of the other stations is going to snap her up.
She’s a legend at what she does and her staff love her. It’s rare to find those qualities in an industry person these days.

Common thread of commentary is Helen was universally liked and respected by her own staff and competitors. I repeat I can think of a number of DMG executives who should have been front and centre way before HD was.
