November’s biggest brand movers revealed

Gaming was top of mind in November, with Xbox and PlayStation taking first and second place in YouGov’s Biggest Brands Movers list.

The list, derived from YouGov’s brand tracker, BrandIndex, is a monthly reporting series which ranks the top 10 brands that have registered the most statistically significant month-on-month upticks in consumer perception, according to 13 key metrics.

Xbox made gains in nine of the metrics, across Media and Communications (Aided Brand Awareness, Ad Awareness, Buzz, Word of Mouth Exposure), Brand Perception (Value, Corporate Reputation, Quality, Recommendation), and Purchase Funnel (Purchase Intent).

It comes after Microsoft made an effort to improve user friendliness and reward accumulation by ‘reimagining’ Xbox Game Pass Quests in Australia.

PlayStation had upticks in seven of the 13 metrics, including Media and Communications (Ad Awareness, Buzz, Word of Mouth Exposure) and Brand Perception (General Impression, Value, Corporate Reputation, Quality). It did not make any gains in the Purchase Funnel metrics.

Oral-B – which topped the list last month – ranked in third for November with upticks in six metrics, followed by Skype – also with six upticks, and Nissan with gains in five metrics.

Other brands that have topped the list include CommBank, Corona, Singapore Airlines, Hisense, Budweiser, Europcar and QBE Insurance.
