Nunn Media takes stake in global media agency network Local Planet
Independent media agency Nunn Media has become a shareholder in global media agency network Local Planet, Mumbrella can reveal.
Matthew Nunn, founder and director at Nunn Media, told Mumbrella taking a stake in Local Planet enables the agency to have access to global business “through an extensive referral network of independent media agencies”.

Great news. Congratulations Matt. Wish you and the team great success.
Please, at what point do you stop being independent?
They are now commercially tied to a global business, headquartered in New York, where they have a 1 in 11 voice at board level.
What happens when he has to resign a big local client for a smaller global client, because the board voted 10 to 1? You aren’t independent just because you aren’t part of a traditional advertising group.
Comparable to IGA and their network of supermarkets.
They are still classified as independent.
Nunn just happens to be the largest and most successful one in VIC.
Great work by Matt Nunn!
Rubbish, independence refers to ownership of the business entity, which has (to my knowledge) never been disclosed by Nunn. Thinkerbell get challenged on being independent all the time, but they have been really clear on who owns what.
IGA by the way are (largely) locally owned stores who pool their resources through a third party to deliver uniformity, group buying power and therefore somewhat compromised choice at a store level (much like every other holding group and agency), which largely defeats the purpose of being independent in the first place – except of course for brand positioning….
Don’t Spotlight Stores own a fair chunk of the Nunn Business??????
