Omnicom Oceania reveals local structure
Clemenger BBDO's new co-CEOs Sheryl Marjoram and Mike Napolitano
Omnicom Group has revamped its structure for Australia and New Zealand, elevating Clemenger BBDO CEO Lee Leggett into a new group-wide role across Omnicom Oceania.
Leggett will now take on the role of chief customer officer for the group and will be tasked with “strengthening the group’s focus on client experience and integration across Australia and New Zealand”, Omnicom confirmed to Mumbrella.
DDB Melbourne and Sydney leaders Mike Napolitano and Sheryl Marjoram will take over as co-CEOs of Clemenger BBDO as the 1949-founded DDB is folded into the brand and retired globally.
Co-CEOs. What could possibly go wrong?
I love that it says “revamped” – There’s going to be a ton of layoffs in the region as the brands consolidate.
You never merge then grow…
As a client side marketer about to go to pitch after becoming seriously jaded by the holdcos, I’m excited about all the independents that are undoubtedly going to spring from these layoffs. Exciting times.
Signal of the end, co-CEO’s? Brand consolidation?
That is the unfortunate thing about some mergers. Layoffs, and then the remaining double-up positions battle it out internally. Challenging times for all involved.
Only in the advertising do you have trumped up titles that result double up – a CEO running Melbourne and another CEO running sydney.
