Opera Australia focus on the Sydney Opera House experience in new ad
Opera Australia is focusing on the audience experience at the Sydney Opera House in a new campaign created by production house Collider to promote ticket sales for the 2015 season.
The TV spot takes viewers through the whole experience from the arrival at the Opera House including pre-show drinks, the performers preparing for the show, and the audience reaction to their performances. It ends with the line ‘Opera – Sydney style’.
Nice, i am going online now to book tickets 😉
I thought Opera was about story telling. What’s the story in this ad? Nicely shot montage sure, but this ad could have been and should have been so much more. Did Lyndon approve this?
‘Jonsey’ – story telling can be subtle – even in Opera. You’ve clearly missed the narrative while you were busy namedropping. Nice brand-awareness piece which isn’t associated with any particular forthcoming production. Well done to the team behind this. Abi
Agree with Abi. Nice job and I think the story was put together beautifully and simplistically will talk to a new, younger audience, which it’s probably intended to do.
Yes! A beautifully shot and beautifully conceived ad.
Poor old Puccini copping the weight of it again, but at least this time, it wasn’t Nessun Dorma.
In spite of its silly title, “Oh my beloved Daddy” is a popular and truly beautiful melody, carried by the magnificence of the female voice.
Its a fine piece of promo work, I hope this lovely ad does the job for the opera company.
