Paramount mounts $164b hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros
Paramount boss David Ellison feels Warner Bros ran an unfair bidding process
Paramount Skydance has launched a hostile bid of US$108.4 billion ($A164b) for Warner Bros Discovery, in an eleventh-hour effort to outbid Netflix.
On Friday, Netflix announced it would buy Warner Bros Discovery for US$72b (A$109b) in cash and stock, after a three-way bidding war between itself, NBC parent Comcast, and Paramount Skydance.
Paramount said it made six different takeover offers over a three-month period but WBD “never engaged meaningfully” with these proposals.
