Pink signs as V8 Supercars ambassador in multi-million dollar deal
V8 Supercars Australia has launched a new TV ad featuring Pink as part of a three-year multi-million dollar deal with the US pop singer.
The commercial, which was filmed in Sydney during Pink’s 2009 Funhouse Tour, features the signer with well known V8 Supercar drivers including Jamie Whincup, Will Davison, Fabian Coulthard and James Courtney.
The Greatest Show on Wheels campaign, created by George Patterson Y&R, claims to be “one of the largest advertising productions undertaken in Australian sport”.
The ad was directed by Dave Meyers, who has also directed music clips for singers including Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Aerosmith.
Tony Cochrane, V8 Supercars executive chairman, said: “So why Pink? She’s not afraid to be different. She’s bold, she’s outspoken and she’s unapologetic… For all those reasons V8 Supercars and Pink are the perfect DNA.”
Russel Howcroft, GP Y&R national CEO, added the campaign aims to position the V8 Supercars brand as the “most entertaining sport in Australia”.

Did Tony Cochrane really say “Perfect DNA” in referring to V8’s…?
lol… buzzwords fail
Really can’t fathom what I’m supposed to take out of this. Completely unnecessary production budget to cover up an irrelevant celebrity endorsement?
Guaranteed to be in the Top 10 Worst ads for 2010. Utter gobshite!
I think the director forgot to add the bit about cars and racing.
Jayzus… did they shoot it on Gold film too, just to make it that little bit more expensive? That said I don’t hate it. I don’t like it, but as I’m no where near the target audience, that’s fair enough.
“Perfect DNA” is however one of the more ridiculous things I’ve ever heard, as it doesn’t even make grammatical sense.
Vrooooooooooooooooooom FAIL!
that was the best v8 ad ever, thanks pink :-))))))
GREAT NEWS! THEY ARE USING THE BEST SINGER/PERFORMER TO PROMOTE V8’S. GO P!NK!
My team was involved in negotiations to have Pink partner a recent Aussie small car launch. Knowing the hoops she made the manufacturer jump through to prove the cars ‘green’ credentials, it baffles me that she would even consider supporting the V8 supercars…
I guess everyone has their price.
The bogan dollar always finds its way into a vehicle with all the appeal of a taxi race.
“features the signer with well known V8 Supercar drivers “….’signer’…are they deaf and dumb?
After viewing the ad, I wish I was deaf and blind.
