Pitch Watch: EA leaves Mediacom for new Havas agency; Stan picks a media agency; Virgin Mobile’s creative shortlist
Mumbrella casts an eye over the major media, creative and public relations pitches at play in market.
In this week’s wrap up the latest on: EA Games (account move), Stan (account move), Virgin, Slater & Gordon, Brisbane City Council (new creative digital pitch), Monash University, Kallis (account move).
EA Games moves from Mediacom to Havas Group’s new agency Arena Media – media
Consumer videogame brand Electronic Arts is the latest major client to depart Mediacom, Mumbrella can reveal.
Wow, you have to feel for the people at Mediacom.
If any on these brands were smart they’d do most of the creative in house and out-source when needed.
chat bra. they moved yonks ago!
Are there any clients left at Mediacom in Melbourne? Surely they’d be close to closing the doors
Havas have launched a new brand to handle a $5m media account? Yeah right – that will be resourced very differently to the main agency.
@agency lad: They still have ones such as Fonterra, Specsavers, CUB and Cricket Australia to keep them going
So by my count that’s IAG, Foxtel, Canon, HCF, EA, Bayer, Treasury Wines, Etihad all left Mediacom in the last 6 months, and S&G and Sony up for pitch. Good luck to the new CEO!
The EA deal with Mediacom was for the AP region.
Has the whole AP region spend moved from Mediacom or just Australia ?
Hi Sydney2100,
We now understand that the pitch was part of a regional realignment away from Mediacom to Havas/Arena. See update.
Cheers
