Queensland Police uses gaming creators to drive recruitment campaign

In an effort to drive recruitment numbers in the state, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) has launched a campaign that bridges the worlds of video games and policing.

The influencer-led campaign, from WPP Media Sport and Entertainment, EssenceMediacom and Livewire, sees gaming content creators Vincent Ton (better known as Vindooly) and Britny Ellen (who also goes by Berticuss) take on a series of challenges at the QPS’s training facility.

The creators — who, according to an emailed comment from WPP Media Sport and Entertainment’s head of entertainment and content partnerships, Liz Maunsell, were chosen for their “quality content and … highly engaged following in the target audience” — undertake a range of activities, from running the facility’s obstacle course to taking the passenger seat in a police vehicle to keep communications flowing between the driver and other officers.
