Rdio goes on the music streaming attack with free trial ad-free
Music streaming service Rdio has temporarily lifted the paywall on its online premium model, with an offer of six months of free music.
The offer will see its service run without ads for a six month period, putting Rdio head to head with Spotify, an early mover in the Australian streaming sector which also offers free music – but with ads.
Spotify’s free, entry level service is ad-funded while its premium model offers music without ads and mobile streaming and offline syncing.
Rdio’s free service does come with a limited credit per month. Its unlimited web streaming still carries a $8.90 a month fee, while the unlimited web and mobile streaming come with offline wireless syncing.
