Regional and Foxtel viewers annoyed at lack of access to Network Seven’s new 7Flix channel
Regional viewers have been left disappointed after discovering they are unable to get Seven Network’s new channel 7Flix with neither Prime Media nor Southern Cross Austereo currently carrying it.
The new station launched at 6:00am on Sunday as a rival to Nine’s Go channel and will feature a movie at 8:30pm each night as well as new episodes of programs including Once Upon a Time, The Muppets, The Mindy Project and The Amazing Race.
However it is currently only being broadcast in metro areas and parts of regional Queensland where Seven controls its own broadcast, with regional affiliates Prime Media and Southern Cross Austereo yet to carry the feed across the rest of the country.
2 of the 3 complaints you feature seem to be complaining about technical problems with the metro feed FYI.
I live in the metro area, but it seems the feed signal isn’t the same as the other channels, so I don’t get a few channels (7Flix, 4me, Racing.com, 9HD). It’s either they’ve changed the signal feed or my HD TV isn’t of the latest technology??
7flix and 9life are not on Fetch/Optus TV either. Also, program guide for all 9 stations is not displayed on Fetch as well.
Yes, I’ve noticed our inability to get the racing TV channel too.

i live in Central METRO Melbourne with a tv and set top box new LAST YEAR yet tuning can Not even find flix76! stop beating around the bush and Please give a valid reason for this as i am far from the only one with this issue. Thank you.

I had Channel 76 “coming soon” for many weeks, until it disappeared from my menu on the day it was due to start. Where is it? Brisbane is a metro city isn’t it?
You aren’t missing anything.
Like the Racing.com, 9HD and TV4ME which are also on free to air TV, the audio is out of sync about 60secs behind the video, the transmission is dreadful like an old BETA video cassette. Set top box will scan through the available channel, but it doesn’t improve the view one little bit with any of these “new” channels.
It’s pretty crappy really
One thing you can try if you’re not sure if you older tv (not all can afford a new tv every time a new format is created) go to your set top box menu, go to picture then down to tv format. If you’re on PAL switch over to NTSC, it at least allows the audio to sync with the visuals
@Geoff Phillips 7flix is on Fetch TV. The Fetch PVR picks up the channels directly off the broadcast signal. If it is broadcast, the box picks it up.
Just checked again —- no Ch76, no Ch95. I live in Adelaide and pick up my signal from the “Black Stump” in Grenfell St. Also, still no program details on 9, 90, 92, 93, 94 and 99. Is there anybody out there? My Fetch STB is only 12 months old. Another thing, when I try to take up the offer of 3 months free Stan. Seems like the story on p1 of today’s Oz is true. Optus is slashing staff in customer service.
It’s called “built-in obsolescence”. It’s what happens when advertising and marketing fails to convince everyone to trade up to the latest model within five minutes.
With todays digital technology, its not that difficult to achieve.
Its disappointing that so much emphasis is place on the metro population and the regional views miss out.digital was supposed to make us all equal.
Can transmit Racing.com (satisfied the gambling community how about the rest of us being able to have a choice of viewing the new channels?
I am annoyed that in Hobart ( a Capital city) we are unable to get 7Flix. I really wanted to watch Once Upon a Time and The Amazing Race, now I will miss them!!!!?????? Shame on you channel 7!!

My tv is from mid 2009 , an LG picks up all the channels fine. I think MPEG4 standards only came in around that time.
I’m got getting the new channels – 76 7flix – 81 win centralQLD, life cannel- 85 Extra – I have tuned my TV but still nothing. Why is this..
I had 7Flix coming soon for many weeks, but it disappeared from my TV menu and DVD player menu the day it was due to start. I live in Brisbane in a suburb which is only 15 kilometers from the Brisbane CBD. Oddly enough I have a TV tuner card installed in my computer and it can get 7flix. Both the TV and DVD Player are High definition.
When in doubt, read the instructions!! Hidden in amongst the reams of techspeak on the Optus website is a fairly simple set of instructions as to how the STB can be programmed to receive the 9 channels (inc program guide), 7flix and now 10HD. Why is it that all telcos insist that their customers jump through an endless series of hoops as an alternative to hanging on the phone waiting to speak to a tech-jockey in Manila?
Why is it that Hobart always misses out on tv stuff like new channels why don’t we get 7flix or 13hd but get the racing channel, i guess it’s all about the almighty dollar.
Hurry up and merger with 7 then we won’t have these problems.
I saw this advert in a window that said: “Television for sale, £1, volume stuck on full.” I thought, “I can’t turn that down.”
I’m also disappointed with the 7 Network re the Flix 76 channel which I cannot get because my TV is all but 5 to 6 years old. Panasonic. Thought it was HD, guess it’s not. Living in outer east Melbourne suburb. So now the shows we watched on 72 or 73 we can no longer watch. Network 9, here we come. Most of TV is rubbish anyway so a good book sounds good. SBS and ABC are also very good options.
Am on Upper NSW Central Coast and receive FTA from Newcastle. After waiting 4 months we at last got 9HD and 9Life. As we are the poor cousins of metro areas, both 7 and 10 didn’t think we warranted consideration with changes to their programming and channel broadcasts! Why would they not organise with their affiliates to make these arrangements? Were they surprised with this introduction?
Prime broadcasts their main content on channels 6, 60 and 61.Why do we need 3 standard def broadcasts. Couldn’t one have been designated for 7 Flix? Where are the substantial costs that they are indicating would be required to broadcast?
It also seems unusual that older receivers may be picking up mpeg4 sound but not vision – is this even possible?
I live in perth we have tried to tune in 7flix we cant get anything what is the problem ……?

Some Panasonic TV’s have to have MPEG-4 enabled in the menu

Depends where you live, whether you can decode mpeg 4, whether you can get metro FTA signal or are regional/country.
Best to check your local broadcasters online.
Generally regional/country will only get the changes some time down the line(it took 3 months for NBN in Newcastle).
We can access all other HD channels fta except 76. Every time I retune, through my HD DVD recorder, it doesn’t find 76. I am getting peeved that I cannot watch the amazing race on a large screen

In Townsville can get the new channels on Kogan TV but not on the older Sanyo. Can get Seven’s 70 HD channel but not the new Flix?? Any ideas?
We were receiving seven flix very well in North qld until 3 days ago our audio completly cut out what’s happening
Yeah I can’t get 7Flix either and I live in Melbourne. I can get 9life, Go, Gem, 7mate, SBS food but not 7Flix. Although one time I was watching regular channel7 and they must have made a broadcasting booboo cause all of a sudden 7Flix popped on in the middle of the UK Chase and Grey’s Anatomy was shown for a few minutes. Cmon Channel 7 lift your game!

cant get 7flix tvs only 5years tuned in but nothing I am going out the back and watch the frogs play
Free view my arse, was in the TV for short time then disappeared, tried to retune now comes up with invalid format, but I have sound on one Tv the main one will not even find it.

i got the ads for 7flix coming soon, then was unable to get the channel. Tried auto and manual tuning to no avail. Have just turned the TV off at the PowerPoint and got the prompt to tune when turning back on. All new stations now available and working. Hope this helps.
7flix etc use mpeg4 compression, and if your TV is showing invalid format, it doesn’t accept mpeg4. You could try (a) software update, or (b) set top box that is mpeg4 compliant. Check the packaging or manual for this.
You know you can download the Freeview App from playstore (and I assume iOS equivalent) and Chromecast to your TV. I live in Ballarat and this works for mr.
