Resurrection launches to 1.9m to help Seven dominate the TV night
Seven launched one of its most highly anticipated dramas of the year Resurrection to 1.911m last night, lifting its audience from 1.721m for the My Kitchen Rules eviction and helping the network win a 31.8 per cent audience share according to OzTam.
Resurrection was one of Seven’s most anticipated shows of 2014 lineup along with the two-part miniseries about the Australian band INXS which had 1.974m for the first part and 1.768m for the second, both of which ran on Sunday nights.
The drama created by Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B and ABC Studios in the US, centres on the story of a boy who returns to his family 32 years after he disappeared looking exactly as he did the day he left. It has developed a large following on social media and received wide coverage in the press.
While Nine got 1.34m in the 7.30pm slot with The Block, its strongest Tuesday yet for the show, Ten’s The Biggest Loser had 268,000 at 7.30pm, its lowest audience number to date, ranking 35th in all programs.
Channel 10 should change their station motto to “Bwahahahahaha”
The best thing about Resurrection was the promo.
How bad was that script?
Such a good idea, such a crap execution.
I’m told the French version, on which it is based, is so much better.
