Vodafone and the pinata-pummelling robot
Host and sister creative agency The Jamboree have created a project allowing Vodafone’s Facebook fans to control a robot arm as it attempts to smash a pinata and watch the process streamed via video.
Mumbrella visits the Vodafone robot:
The robot is hosted in a warehouse in the Sydney suburb of Silverwater, with the robot operating 12 hours per day.
Is that a burrito the Mexican girl in the background is eating at 1:35?!
Cool idea – well done Vodafone and Host!
Tim, very Austin Powers like intro too mate – ‘I’m going to go across the street to get you some orange sherrrrr berrrrrt’.
Tongue must have come up with the idea – they are the ideas agency?
This is a Host lead idea and execution. We have the pleasure of choosing from a few very talented agencies and have great work that was created by both of them live at the moment on our Facebook page.
Fantastic to see some digital+physical ideas being thrown up and courageous clients saying yes to them… Really great effort.
More please!
We are doing this because we can dammit! Now get me a Pony and a latte!
*Does another line*
Effin clever!
Perhaps Vodafone could be spending more efforts on making a usable service than publicity stunts? The speed and reception is abysmal.
As a customer who can’t get 3G in Sydney this appears very indulgent.
How come the video plays for all 2:04 when my Vodafone connection struggles to hold a call that long?
Love this idea. I had a go and knocked something off the Pinata. I’d love to be the one who finally breaks it!
