Rodd and Gun appoints Tide Communications for communication duties

Tide Communications is locked in to spearhead “the communications strategy and launch campaign for Rodd & Gunn’s highly anticipated global flagship”.
The announcement:
Tide Communications has been appointed to lead the communications strategy and launch campaign for Rodd & Gunn’s highly anticipated global flagship.
Rodd & Gunn, the leading New Zealand brand renowned for its refined style and hospitality, is set to unveil its most ambitious project yet – a global flagship at 280 Little Collins Street. A melding of fashion, dining, design and history, all housed within an iconic heritage destination. The landmark launch will open to the public this October 2025 and is set to redefine the experiential retail landscape in Australia.
The unveiling follows the opening of Mecca’s new Bourke Street flagship in the northern wing of the same historic building – Rodd & Gunn will officially be the resident brand in the southern wing. Together, the launches signal a powerful new chapter for one of the city’s most architecturally significant addresses.
“This building holds a special place in Melbourne’s history, and we wanted our flagship to honour that legacy at every turn,” says Mike Beagley, CEO. “From the restored architectural details to subtle references to its celebrated past, every design choice was made to respect its heritage while creating something entirely new for today’s guest to enjoy.”
As part of the scope, Tide will deliver an integrated campaign spanning PR, influencer engagement, and event support to introduce the flagship to media, industry, and consumers alike.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Rodd & Gunn on this landmark launch. To be entrusted with such a significant moment in Rodd & Gunn’s global journey is a privilege, and we can’t wait to showcase the incredible vision behind the flagship to Australian and international audiences,” said Stacey Mcardle, managing director at Tide.
“This is a monumental milestone for Rodd & Gunn – it’s a true destination that brings together our brand’s heritage, innovation, and hospitality. Tide was the ideal partner to help us tell this story in an authentic and impactful way,” Stephanie Noonan, executive general manager, brand & marketing at Rodd & Gunn.
The campaign will roll out across October 2025, culminating in a series of industry and consumer moments designed to cement the flagship as a must-visit Melbourne destination.
This appointment follows a string of recent wins for Tide. With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, Tide is part of the Hardie Grant Media network and specialises in PR, influencer marketing, and experiential campaigns.
