Rosso replaces Rochford at Sydney’s Mix 106.5

Less than two years after leaving the “isolating” world of breakfast radio, Tim “Rosso” Ross is returning to the fray.

He will co-host the breakfast show on Sydney’s Mix 106.5 with Claire Hooper from the new year following the departure of Andrew Rochford to host Ten’s new morning show, Breakfast.

In an interview with Mumbrella last year, Ross appeared to have lost his interest in breakfast radio following his lengthy stint on Nova 96.9 in Sydney with Merrick Watts. He told editor Tim Burrowes: “I was tired. Breakfast radio is an incredibly isolating business. It’s different to doing drive radio. You’re tired a lot of the time. I found myself just not feeling right. I pretty much gave my thirties to DMG. It’s a big chunk of your life to give to a company.

‘It’s an age thing, breakfast radio. Chasing 18 to 24s is just not something I’m fascinated by.”
