Rove helps Twitter jump the Shark
Could this be the moment that Twitter ate itself? For those unfamiliar with their Aussie celebs, Rove McManus and sidekick Dave Hughes simultaneously took pictures of each other and tweeted them as they prepared for tonight’s show.
Rove’s accompanying observation was: “Tweeting @DHughesy tweeting me. Blow your mind! It’s just like back to the future 2″
While Hughes had this to say: “I did @rove1974 and he did me at the same time.”
The celeb Twitter shark has officially been jumped.
Has Dr Mumbo just jumped the shark?
=)
Dr Mumbo put on his leather jacket, strapped on the skis and got behind the speedboat some weeks ago…
Rove a talentless knob – why can’t anyone else see this?
I’m just freaked out by the idea of having a hair cut *every* week
Well Dan … send your CV and reel off to the networks and let’s see how you go.
Couldn’t work out who was weirder – 1) people who set up twitter hoping people will follow them, or 2) people who follow people they don’t know on twitter. Then I found out there are people who set up twitter in other peoples names and people would follow them – even after they find out they are fake! I’m so confused I’ve gone back to writing letters to everyone I know.
Rove is light entertainment with a focus on the work Light.
Aaaah the irony. Rove is light entertainment which makes him crap. As opposed to Twitter (which is where this all started) which is obviously serious journalism and news gathering. Point is – there is a place for both.
William Felt, Rove is not light entertainment which makes him crap, he is light entertainment and in that category he is light. Light on jokes, light on interview ability, light on everything. I enjoy light entertainment, but I do need to be entertained.
Of course Rove is not everyone’s cup of tea. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
I’m hardly a fan of his. But the point stands – you say he is light, but using May 10’s episode of Rove as an example around 1.75m viewers bothered to tune in and watch, and would disagree with you. Compared to that Twitter is helium !
