SBS creates animation to promote its film offering

Film makers bring light to the dark masses in an animation created by Us Sydney to promote SBS’s film offering.

The campaign – which is being run without the backing of a major marketing budget – launches on Wednesday. The 60 second spot – aimed at building the SBS Film brand –  will be shown on screens in the independent Palace Cinema chain.

It will also be aired on the public service broadcaster’s TV channels.

SBS group marketing manager Katherine Raskob said: “SBS Film brings the world’s best films to Australian homes. We have an opportunity to grow SBS’s reputation as the go-to brand for world and art house movies, to encourage audiences to see SBS as the avenue to explore their love of film. We are confident this campaign is a sophisticated means of achieving this.”
