SBS’s ‘F*ck, That’s Delicious’ and ‘CU in the NT’ banned by ad watchdog; ‘BCF-ing’ fun is okay
The Ad Standards Board has cracked down on two advertising messages which allude to swearwords, banning a poster campaign for SBS’s new Viceland channel which features the word “F*ck” and also ruling against the “CU in the NT” Facebook page.
However, a third campaign for outdoor store BCF, which uses the phrase “BCF-ing fun” has been cleared by the ad watchdog.

Action Bronson – Advertising miscreant
In the complaint against Viceland, which took over the SBS2 channel from November 15, the ASB ruled against an ad for the food show F*ck That’s Delicious, fronted by rapper Action Bronson.
I think SBS 2 has gone down the gurgler. It used to be edgy ( thats good ) but now its just cheap, nasty and sleazy ( Bad ) . Those dipsticks are committing viewer suicide by going all potty-mouthed, Gay, and druggy, ( ie. Viceland ). I would put my balls on it ( tennis balls ie. ), that their ratings have plummeted since Viceland was introduced. Whose the dickhead there who thought this type of TV would be popular ??? Everybody knows that people who use the f… or c…. word a lot dont watch SBS, theyre busy bashing their wives or each other. (Edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy) and we all know druggies just watch endless videos of Arnold Schwartzneggar or Housos or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The quicker u sack the Viceland program director and get back to some great European movies, the quicker I will again press 32 on my remote. ( I’m gonna miss Ch31 ( 44 ))
Bob, you are moron. How old are you and have you actually watched Viceland? This is another example of conservative Nanny state Australia telling people how they should live their lives. How bloody ridiculous the name of a TV show, which is far more entertaining than half the shite on normal Australian TV is censored for a swear word that isn’t even complete. Australia is a pathetic little penal colony. I can’t believe after telling us when we can or cannot drink, they are now telling us when we can or cannot fake swear. This is hugely embarrassing, my British friends have already given me shit over this.
‘Housos’ was of course another SBS triumph. The station is a shadow of its former self. It needs the cleaners put through it.
Bob has nailed it. SBS has drifted well outside its charter and our money is being wasted on trash TV. Is calling it “edgy” the best PR spin they can come up with? That in itself is very telling.
I love Bob.
He illustrates the triumph of the uneducated.
Post-modern personified.
How right he is to call out the “potty-mouths” by describing them as “dickheads” and “dipsticks”. Smooth with a capital OO.
Class all the way Bobby-boy.
Only new in this game – could someone explain how the ASB thinks they can get Facebook to take the “CU in the NT” page? Do they think they could do this with any commercial page?
“Australia is a pathetic little penal colony.” Then piss off then mate!
The BCF ad was paying during a kids TV show. Not cool BFC, not effing cool…
The Advertising Standards Bureau seems to be full of double standards?
It’s clear the BFC ad “has been clearly designed to form a strong reference to the word ‘fucking’. The Board should note that community standards research into language had shown that the community considered the ‘f-word’ to be obscene and not appropriate in advertising in any form”
It should be the Advertising Standards Bureau to assist good parents to be effective shields for our children’s TV viewing and not let this effing ad be played during Ku Foo Panda.
Shame ABS board SHAME!
Obviously BCF still think the add works, at a cool meeting this week we have over 124 sets of parents that have agreed to boycott BCF since the advert started running. We are in a seaside area and would be a target market, Interesting to see a company blinded by advertising agencies
