Screen Australia will move its office from Kings Cross to Ultimo this week in what the body describes as an initiative that will save over $2m over ten years.

As Ruth Harley, the current CEO of Screen Australia, prepares to step down at the end of this week, she says the agency has reduced its overheads by around 40 per cent since the merger between the Australian Film Commission, Film Finance Corporation and Film Australia to form Screen Australia in 2008.

The relocation is estimated to help save Screen Australia around $200,000 a year over the 10 year lease with the fit out will be paid for by the owner of the new office as part of the lease incentive.
