Seven extends V8 Supercar deal
The Seven Network has today announced a new two year deal to extend its long-held coverage of the V8 Supercar series which will make its US debut this year.
The announcement:
“The Seven Network and V8 Supercars have reached agreement to extend their existing broadcast relationship for a further two seasons.
The new deal ensures that live free-to-air coverage of all Championship races continues in all metropolitan and regional markets.
Major sponsors are leaving V8 Supercars in droves – Bigpond, Vodafone, XXXX, Jim Beam and Mother. V8s need to learn how to protect and deliver on the rights they sell.
As a past sponsor I am not surprised this deal has been delayed.
i would like to see the crowd numbers released. as a fan who attends many events, I can tell you that crowd numbers are well down. is there a way that the crowd figures can be made public?
Vanders, the official crowd figures are released at every round – have been for years.
Whether you find them credible or not is entirely up to you… 😉
Edward, thats my point. i remember at Phillip Island last year, they raved about how crowds were up yet the track was empty, no one was there and there wasnt even a line to get into the gate.
is there some way to make them accountable for TRUE crowd figures? to make sure that they arent lying to sponsors..
