Seven seeks urgent update from Doctor Blake producers following Craig McLachlan allegations
Seven is seeking an “urgent update” from December Media, the producers of popular television series The Doctor Blake Mysteries, after allegations of sexual harassment and assault against lead actor Craig McLachlan emerged this morning.
An ongoing joint investigation by Fairfax Media and ABC alleged McLachlan indecently assaulted, sexually harassed and bullied female co-stars.
I am a woman in her sixties and I feel today people take all these things to seriously.
I can remember when I was at work many of my male co workers brushed up against you and tried different things on I just told them to get lost and made a joke of it , I don’t think it has affected me personally . Maybe the problem is they don’t tell the person concerned to cut it out and say they will report them, very weak women out there these days I dont think going to the press is standing up for your self it’s just making a fuss about nothing.
Where do comments go
Stand up and be strong – “don’t touch me” works, unless you want to blame someone else for your standards/reactions.
I am 57 years old and for forty two years I have had to tolerate rudeness about my size and my appearance in the workplace. My personal favourite was that “if I lost 100 pounds – I would just be fat” Rude – ignorant – pigs! And if you complain about it – the boss either ignores you or says that I needed to grow a thicker skin! It was the 70’s and – trust me – it was a bad time for women in the workplace. The 80’s were a little better but now that we have Fair Work Australia – it is wonderful! They listen to your worries and concerns and step in whenever you need them! Well done all round!
I agree! If you complain – you are called a “whinger” and you are the first to be shown the door around promotion time! It is not fair!
I agree wholeheartedly! Growing up I was often approached in what might be considered inappropriate ways. I have never been a fool- and I was often flattered by the advances- deciding which ones I chose to entertain. My own husband of almost 40 years was one of the ” predators” the women of the metoo movement have got to face the fact that the differences are there for a reason. Are lesbians ever accused of the same things? Not that I have ever heard!
