Seven, Ten and SBS win big at Logies
Packed to the Rafters, MasterChef, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and East West 101 took home the main trophies at last night’s Logies.
Nine, the network that hosted the broadcast live from Melbourne, only won one award for Most Popular Sports Program (The Footy Show NRL).
ABC TV did not have an outstanding night either; its only wins were for Most Outstanding Public Affairs Report (Code of Silence, on Four Corners) and Most Outstanding Children’s Program for ABC3’s flagship drama My Place.
Seven’s Packed to the Rafters won the Most Popular categories for Drama, Actress (Rebecca Gibney) and Actor (Hugh Sheridan). The network was also recognised for its work during the Victorian Bushfires (Most Outstanding News Coverage, for Seven News) and at the V8 Supercars – Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 (Most Outstanding Sports Coverage).
One of the newtorks most recognisable faces, Ray Meagher, won the Gold Logie for his 22-year performance as Alf Stewart in Home and Away. The soap also had the Most Popular New Male Talent, Luke Mitchell.
