Seven West Media board orders inquiry into CEO Tim Worner’s sex scandal
Seven West Media’s board has ordered an “independent” inquiry and revealed that it has held four emergency meetings over the last three days to discuss the sex scandal involving CEO Tim Worner.
In its first statement to the ASX on the matter, SWM said that while it continues to support Worner, “to allay any concerns that our shareholders may have the board has determined it prudent to commission a further independent inquiry to establish all the facts”.

The scandal came to light after a former executive assistant in the media company’s magazine division went public on her 18-month-relationship with the married executive. In an explosive email, Amber Harrison made a number of claims about Worner’s conduct during and after their relationship.

Yeah right, like the public will have any faith in an internal review – let alone thier own employees.
The shamefull behaviour of double standards for employees & management is appalling.
What’s even more shamefull & cowardly than Mr Worners pathetic conduct is Ms Allibon – the so called “Head of HR” who also participated in trying to sweep this behaviour under the carpet.
She has set-back womens fight for equal rights, pay & respect in the workforce some 30 years – what a gutless performance my a senior manager.
If someone at her level in the organisation is incapable of changing the culture, there’s no hope for any change to occur until such time you clean out the line of managers who were complicit in aiding & abeting this behaviour.
Mr Worner’s email to staff apologising & trying to rally the employees to do better in 2007 post getting his hand caught in the cookie jar – is a joke – like he would have any credibility or respect amongst his staff & employees. Get real.
What’s also very disappointing is how acceptancing the board are of his actions & the manner in which they’re trying to defend his actions – it goes to the very heart of highlighting an organisations culture. If they wanted to show leadership & courage in this matter – both parties should have been immediatley dismissed with out any golden handshake as they’ve broken the very basis of accepted behaviour & conduct within the company. Would place Ms Allibon in the mix to clear out as well.
A fish rots from the head – the board need to become the leaders they think they & have the guts to make the decisions they should (now knowing Jeff Kennet sits on the board I’m even more surprised & dissappointed re their lack of action).
