Seven has been found guilty of breaching advertising rules on sexual imagery in an outdoor poster to promote Italian-American reality show Jersey Shore featuring a large breasted woman in a bikini with the message “100% guidette”.

The network argued that its ad for the 7Mate show went no further than others that had previously been cleared by the Advertising Standards Board.

But the ASB ruled: “The Board noted the complainants’ concerns that the advertisement objectifies women. The Board noted that the advertisement depicts the woman without a head and that this can be an indication that the image is objectifying. In addition, the Board noted that the advertisement is predominantly the image of a woman’s breasts and torso.”
