Skincare influencer caught out by Ad Standards over undeclared promotion

A Melbourne-based beauty influencer has fallen foul of Ad Standards after allegedly posting an undeclared advertisement on Instagram.

Jayde Taylor, who posts under the moniker Driven by Beauty, removed a post published on 11 November after the watchdog upheld a complaint that it promoted a product from new skincare brand St Saj without the required disclosures.

While St Saj said it did not “engage” Taylor to create the content and did not “authorise, provide product, or pay for it”, the Ad Standards panel ruled the post constituted advertising and was not appropriately disclosed as such.
