Sky News farewells presenter Greg Thomson after charity event rant

Sky News boss Angelos Frangopoulos has farewelled presenter Greg Thomson following the Sky News’ host’s foul mouthed rant at a charity event last weekend.

“Greg Thomson has resigned from Australian News Channel,” said Frangopoulos in a short memo to Sky News staff yesterday afternoon. “I would like to thank Greg for his contribution to ANC and wish him all the best for the future.”

Thomson was suspended by the network following his hosting a lunch for disability charity Inala last Friday which descended into him hurling abuse at the audience before the microphone was taken away from him.
