Indie creative agency Slik has appointed a new managing director in Kim Verbrugghe.
Verbrugghe will lead the agency’s strategic direction, driving growth and evolving its offering to serve changing client needs.
Working closely with the leadership team, she will oversee the integration of innovation programs based on the ‘blue ocean strategy’ — which aims to create new market spaces, make competition irrelevant, and create new demand — as well as CX strategy and AI technology.
Hoping to unlock commercial value and long-term advantage for its brands, these integrations will aim to position Slik as a trusted partner for growth-led brand transformation.

“As the big networks restructure and adapt to stay relevant, we’re rightsized to move fast and design our offering around real client value to build the agency of the future,” co-founders Kyle Bennett and Cooper LaPlanche said in a media release on Tuesday.
“The growing role of AI is creating new opportunities for brands to connect with their audiences more effectively, and they’re looking for partners who can guide them through this transformation.”
Of Verbrugghe, the co-founders said: “We’re excited to have Kim join us to guide these efforts. With her background in innovation, CX, and growth strategy, she’s perfectly positioned to help clients gain competitive edge while building capabilities for what’s ahead.”
She joins Slik from CX Lavender where she was chief strategy office for just over a year. Prior to that, she held senior strategy, product, and experience design roles at Orchard, BCG X, and Deepend.
She has worked with iconic Australian brands including Aldi, Qantas, CBA, Westpac, Hyundai, and more.
Verbrugghe said the market is entering a “new era”, where access to AI will commoditise execution. This will make innovation and craftsmanship “more critical than ever”.
“Our job is to help clients thrive in ambiguity, unlock new growth and build advantages they can own,” she said in the release.
“Slik has a strong foundation of creative and tech innovation. I’m excited to build on that, push into new spaces, uncover the next big opportunities for our partners, and evolve how we deliver maximum value where it counts.
“Slik deeply cares about its client partners and it shows in the work and long term relationships.”
Slik’s client roster includes Qantas, Nine, Woolworths Group, nib, Darrell Lea, and the NSW Government.
It has also strengthened its presence in the Melbourne market, having opened an office late last year.
