Solar panel firm under scrutiny for allegedly posting fake customer reviews
A company specialising in the installation of solar panels has been accused of posting fake online reviews with one comparison site banning several “glowing” tributes about the product.
Several reviews praising True Value Solar for its exemplary service have appeared on a site called productreview.com.au, with at least one seemingly penned in-house.
Another review site, SolarQuotes, has refused to post reviews for True Value Solar after finding IP addresses from supposedly content Australian customers were based in Macedonia.
Gripping news. I’m gonna get back to my suntanning.
I thought this was just standard industry practice now?
True Value Solar is indeed exemplary. I was very happy with the product and the friendly service and would recommend them to anyone.
We had the reverse; we caught a competitor coming on to our website and telling everyone how crappy our software was and how much better the function of theirs was, even if they did not have these functions. He used a range of names like Nelson and Jack. He got caught because by accident, he used their real name.
Maybe we should have gone to the ACCC.
Not surprising considering their service is appalling
I am shattered that I can no longer trust everything I read on the internet
