Unfortunately the horse had to be put down.
I bet they didn’t even use special effects.
Jockeys might be short, but they are as tough as nails.
The horse sounded like he was voiced by Patrick Stewart.
Good ad; product still tastes worse than hay
Hey Gezza … that explains it. I’ve always thought that Patrick Stewart had been voiced by a horse!
Steeplechase is cruel and shouldnt be used in a humourous way, much as I think all the creative and execution on this are great. I’m not over the top about these things, but when you see horses with their legs literally snapped off at the ankle because a ton of horse has come down at 60km/h on a deliberately hidden water trap, and the horse limps on 3 legs in agony until the person with the rifle can catch and shoot it, I don’t think Weetabix or anyone else should be condoning it. As for the horses whose necks get broken, they never even get up, so the rifle gets there quicker. The number of horses maimed and put down every year for this sport is astounding. Like whale hunting, it just cannot be condoned except in sadistic terms, and I’m a little surprised that Weetabix Food Co went there.
1. Nice one JG.
2. Mikey Mike – I think you are entitled to your opinion but you are stretching a very long bow here.
I agree, sorry this isnt the place. It is a great ad. Cheers Gezza 🙂
