Stan announces mobile deal with Vodafone
Subscription video on demand (SVOD) platform Stan has struck a mobile partnership with Vodafone in a move that will give the telco’s millions of customers access to its library of TV shows and movies.
Vodafone’s CEO Inaki Berroeta said the deal with the joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co and Fairfax Media was about the mobile provider improving its premium content offering, after it entered into a similar arrangement with music streaming service Spotify last year.
“Stan is a fantastic addition to Vodafone’s leading range of premium content,” said Berroeta. “The reason we’ve chosen to partner with Stan is simple: we believe it offers Australian customers the best range of local and international TV and movies.”
So access to better call saul, is really what they’re selling
These kinds of partnerships are only valuable if the phone network provides unmetered usage for the live streaming service.
Vodafone still has 5 million customers?
I dumped Vodafone a few years ago because it couldn’t hold a telephone call.
I sure hope that they have improved their carrier service considerably because what hope would there be for video streaming!
wait for Presto to announce some sort of similar partnership with Telstra……
